THE VINEYARD

Mas Gourdou is located 25 km from Montpellier, on the border between the Gard and Hérault departments, in the heart of the Pic Saint Loup appellation zone. With its 20 hectares of vines, the estate is committed to environmentally-friendly production, with HEV (High Environmental Value) certification.
The estate's vines are planted in small plots, nestled among forests of holm oak and Aleppo pine, and surrounded by Mediterranean plants such as rosemary, thyme, arbutus and lavender...
OUR STORY
The name "Mas de Gourdou" has its roots in distant history, appearing as early as 1320 as "mansum de gordono", listed in the Maguelonne cartulary. Its origins lie in the name of its owner at the time, Guillaume de Gourdou, with "gordono" being of Visigothic origin. Further testimony to the age and rich history of this land.
It should also be noted that in 1212, "Durand de Gourdon (or Gordon) de Valflaunès" was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and his name remains engraved at the entrance to this institution, underlining the importance and renown of the family in the region for centuries...
